Also called: contest, prize draw
A giveaway trades a prize for an action: comment to enter, subscribe, share, tag a friend. It reliably produces a spike in whichever number you asked for, and that spike is usually the least useful audience you will ever gain, because the entrants came for the prize and leave once it is awarded.
Two sets of rules apply at the same time. YouTube has its own contest policies covering what you may ask of viewers and how the draw is run. Separately, promotions law in your country and your entrants' countries governs prizes, eligibility, age limits and the data you collect.
