Also called: bin, media pool, project bin
Importing a file into Premiere, Resolve or Final Cut puts a reference in the bin rather than a copy of the media, so moving or renaming the original on disk breaks the link and the clip goes offline. Bins are organisational only. A project with everything dumped into one is a project you will be fighting by month three. Mirror on disk the folders you already use, and set them up before the first import rather than during the edit.
