Multistreaming
Also called: simulcasting, simulcast, restreaming
Multistreaming sends one encoder output to YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Facebook and anywhere else simultaneously, normally through a restreaming service so your own upload carries a single stream. The practical costs are split attention and split chat, which is why most services offer a merged chat window. Platform rules matter more here than the technology does. Twitch dropped its simulcasting ban for Partners and Affiliates in late 2023, while still requiring the Twitch stream to match the quality sent elsewhere and forbidding links that point Twitch viewers at your other broadcasts. Read the terms of every platform you add, and check sponsorship contracts for exclusivity clauses.
