Non-Skippable In-Stream Ad

Also called: non-skippable ad, unskippable ad

Most YouTube advertising gives the viewer a skip button after a moment. Non-skippable in-stream takes it away, so the advert plays through and the buyer gets the full message delivered. These run before a video and can also fill mid-roll breaks in longer ones, and advertisers pay on impressions since completion is close to guaranteed. Creators never pick individual adverts. You choose which formats are permitted on your videos and where the breaks fall, and the auction fills them. Two things get mixed up here: bumper adverts are also unskippable and much shorter, and Premium members see neither format, though their watch time still pays.
