Video Format

Also called: format, repeatable format, show format, content format

Formats give a video a reusable skeleton: same premise, same constraints, same beats, a different subject each time. Reviewing every episode of a show, ranking things against a rule, or spending a fixed budget on a category all qualify. Formats do two jobs at once. They give returning viewers something recognisable to come back for, and they cut the planning work on each new video down to filling in the variable. The common error is treating a topic as a format. A topic runs out, whereas a format keeps producing episodes for as long as inputs exist.
