Packaging-first

Most creators make the video and then work out how to sell it. Packaging-first inverts the order: the title and thumbnail concept are written and sketched at the idea stage, and an idea whose packaging will not hold up gets dropped before anyone spends a day filming. MrBeast's team works this way, sketching thumbnail and title before an idea reaches the production calendar, on the grounds that a concept that looks good in your head sometimes fails as an actual image.

The discipline is what does the work. Deciding packaging up front forces you to state the promise in plain words, and everything you shoot afterwards is aimed at paying it off.
