Video concept

Also called: concept, the concept

A concept can usually be said in one sentence and understood with no demonstration. Execution is everything after that: the script, the shots, the edit, the pacing. Keeping the two apart matters because it costs almost nothing to reject a weak concept and a great deal to rescue a finished video built on one. The practical test is whether the idea still sounds interesting when described to someone with no context at all. If it needs a paragraph of setup before it lands, the concept is doing too little work and the execution will be asked to carry it.
