POV shot

Also called: point of view shot, POV

The camera stands in for a person. You cut from a face looking at something to the thing itself, framed at their eye height and moving the way a head moves, and the audience reads the second shot as their view.

It only works with the setup. A point of view shot with no preceding shot of whoever is looking is a wide shot at an odd height. Keep it distinct from the POV video format on Shorts, which borrows the label for a staged scenario aimed at the viewer.
