Monetisation & Revenue

Print on Demand

Also called: POD, made to order merch

A print on demand supplier holds blank stock, prints your design when an order arrives, and ships it to the buyer. You pay per item instead of funding a production run, which removes the risk of sitting on 200 unsold hoodies.

The trade is margin. Unit costs run far higher than bulk printing, so the same t-shirt earns you a few pounds where a bulk order would earn ten. Quality control is the other catch, since you never handle the item before your viewer does. Order samples of everything you list, and expect it to work best as a low-effort extra.
