Monetisation & Revenue

Royalties

Also called: royalty, ongoing rights payments

A royalty pays per use or per copy sold rather than once for the job. Musicians earn them when a track is streamed, authors when a book sells, and creators earn something similar by licensing stock footage or writing music that other channels pay to use. The contract holds everything that matters: what triggers a payment, what percentage, who reports the usage, and whether the rights ever revert to you. Ad revenue works differently. You are paid for advertising sold against something you host, and it stops the moment the views do.
