Monetisation & Revenue

Self-Certification

Also called: self certification questionnaire, content rating questionnaire

Monetising channels answer it on every upload: a short set of questions covering language, violence, sex, drug references, controversial issues and similar. Your answers feed the ad suitability decision alongside YouTube's own automated review, and a channel that answers accurately over time builds trust in the system.

Misrepresenting content is the expensive mistake. If YouTube detects a gap between what you declared and what you uploaded, it can start reviewing your videos manually before ads run, which delays or reduces revenue on new uploads at exactly the point they earn most. Declaring a borderline moment honestly usually costs less than the yellow icon and the review queue that follow a wrong answer.
