Title card
Also called: title slide, section card, chapter card
Title cards break a video into parts you can see. Used structurally they tell a viewer where they are in a long piece and roughly how much is left, which makes twenty minutes feel navigable. Used comically they land a punchline by stating something flatly on a black screen, a rhythm plenty of channels have built an identity on.
They cost momentum, so each one earns its place or it goes. A card sitting for two seconds to say "Part One" adds nothing a spoken line could not carry faster. The ones worth keeping either give information the narration cannot, or are the joke themselves. Keep the typography consistent and they double as branding.
