Violent or graphic content policy
Also called: graphic content policy, violence policy
Material made to shock or disgust comes down: footage of accidents or attacks dwelling on injury, animal abuse, fights involving minors, and anything encouraging violence. Graphic material with genuine educational, documentary, scientific or artistic purpose can stay, and YouTube is explicit that the context has to sit in the video itself, since a title and description are not enough on their own. Where context exists but the imagery is strong, the usual outcome is an age restriction rather than removal, which cuts both your reach and your ad revenue. Advertiser-friendly guidelines run on a separate track, so material that stays up can still lose its ads. A first violation normally brings a warning. Three strikes inside ninety days ends the channel.
