YouTube channel monetization policies
Also called: monetisation policies, YPP policies
Monetisation is governed by several documents at the same time: the Partner Programme terms, Community Guidelines, the Terms of Service, Google's AdSense programme policies and the advertiser-friendly content guidelines. Hitting the subscriber and watch-time thresholds gets a channel reviewed; following all of these keeps it in. The reused and inauthentic content rules are where channels most often come unstuck, since mass-produced or repetitive uploads have never been eligible. YouTube renamed the repetitious content category to inauthentic content in July 2025, presenting it as a clarification of existing rules, then split it into three separate categories in July 2026 without changing how the policy is applied.
