Audience survey
Also called: viewer survey, community survey
Analytics tells you what happened and roughly who was in the room. A survey tells you why, and it reaches what the numbers leave out: what somebody does for a living, what they are trying to achieve, what nearly stopped them subscribing, what they would happily pay for. Creators run these through a linked form, a Community tab poll, or a question in a newsletter. Keep it short, ask about behaviour instead of intentions, and expect the answers to over-represent your most committed viewers, because they are the ones who bother replying. That skew matters if you are using the results to guess at what a casual viewer wants.
