Casual viewer

Most of the people watching any given video are casual. They came from a recommendation, they wanted what the title promised, and by next week they will not remember the channel name. Studio's new versus returning split is where the group shows up. Treating them as a failure of loyalty is where creators go wrong. A large casual audience is what reach looks like, and the work is to give a small share of them a reason to come back rather than to convert the lot.
