Back Catalogue

Also called: back catalog, content library, video library, legacy content

Old videos keep working. They surface in search, sit in playlists, get suggested alongside new releases and carry description links that still convert, which is why the catalogue rewards an audit the way a shop floor does.

Maintenance is unglamorous and it pays. Titles and thumbnails on old videos can be rewritten, dead links replaced, playlists rebuilt around what people actually search for, and anything embarrassing unlisted. The mistake is treating the catalogue as a museum. Find the older video quietly bringing in most of the channel's new subscribers, because that is the one to protect.
