Channel Strategy & Niche

Brand Account

Also called: YouTube Brand Account, channel switching

A channel created under a Brand Account belongs to that account rather than to one person's Gmail, and the owner can add managers by inviting their own Google accounts. Everybody signs in as themselves, so removing an editor who leaves takes seconds.

Channel switching is the everyday face of it: one login, several channels, chosen from the avatar menu. Two things catch people out. Moving a channel between accounts is possible and fiddly, with waiting periods and eligibility rules attached, and a channel still sitting on a personal Gmail is one shared password away from a very bad week.
