Channel Strategy & Niche
Audience Ceiling
Also called: niche ceiling, growth ceiling, audience cap
Every topic has a finite pool of interested people, and a growing channel eventually meets it. Hitting the ceiling looks like steady output, unchanged quality, and views that stop climbing. The limit comes from how many people want the subject at all, so it does not respond to better packaging the way an execution problem would.
There are two usual responses. One is widening the format so the same expertise reaches people with no prior interest in the subject. The other is accepting the ceiling and building revenue that does not need volume. Creators often diagnose an algorithm penalty when they have met a ceiling.
