Charity stream

Also called: charity livestream, fundraising stream

The format is old and reliable: a long broadcast, a visible total ticking up, and rewards at milestones to keep people giving. YouTube's own fundraiser tool puts a donate button on the stream and in live chat, and it pays out to US-registered 501(c)(3) charities, so creators elsewhere generally run the collection through a third-party fundraising platform and link to that instead. Either way the money should not pass through your personal account. Route donations to the charity directly and keep the running total on an overlay, so the audience can see where what they gave has gone.
