Child safety policy

YouTube counts anybody under 18 as a minor. The policy prohibits content endangering their emotional or physical wellbeing: sexual exploitation of minors, simulated abuse or abandonment, dares that risk harm, and material designed to humiliate. It also catches things that look family-friendly and are not, such as cartoons or children's characters carrying violent or sexual themes.

Separate best-practice rules apply when real children appear on camera. Get consent from a parent or guardian, keep participation voluntary, and strip identifying details like a school uniform or a street name. A breach means the video comes down, with a first offence usually bringing a warning that expires after 90 days once you complete the policy training.
