Edutainment

Edutainment describes a video that teaches something while being built like entertainment, so the pacing, the story structure and the stakes all come from film rather than from a lecture. Most large explainer channels sit here and describe themselves this way.

The word gets used as an insult by people who think the entertainment part waters down the teaching. The constraint runs the other way: a viewer who leaves at 90 seconds learns nothing, so holding attention is the precondition for teaching anything at all.
