Long-form video
Also called: longform, long form
The term only exists because Shorts arrived. Anything that is not classified as a Short is long form: a normal video on the watch page, with a full description, chapters, cards, end screens and the whole comment section. Since October 2024 a vertical or square video under three minutes is classified as a Short, which puts the boundary at three minutes for vertical uploads, while horizontal videos of any length stay long form.
The split matters for money as much as format. Partner Programme watch-hour requirements count long-form and live watch time only, so hours accumulated on Shorts add nothing to that total.
