With memberships switched on, a channel can restrict any video, community post, live stream or playlist to members, and to specific tiers within that. Members reach it through a members-only tab; everyone else sees a lock.
Two things catch creators out. Gated videos do no growth work, because the people who might discover the channel cannot watch them, so the members-only library sits apart from the public catalogue. And a perk has to justify a charge that repeats every month, which is a much harder promise to keep than a one-off. Behind-the-scenes offcuts wear thin faster than most people expect.
