Music distributor

DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby and the rest take a finished master, place it on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and everywhere else, collect the royalties and pass them on for a flat fee or a percentage. For a musician on YouTube the distributor also does two platform-specific jobs: it delivers the release to YouTube, which generates the auto-produced art tracks and opens the path to an Official Artist Channel, and it can register the recording in Content ID.

Content ID is the part to think through. Once your own music is registered, your own vlogs and clips using it can get claimed by your own release, so whitelist your channels with the distributor before the tracks go live.
