Shorts & Vertical Video
Remix
Also called: sampling, remix a video
Remix is YouTube's built-in way to reuse another creator's material inside a Short. You can take the audio, cut in a segment, use the source as a green-screen background, or sit beside it in a collab layout. Remixes link back to the source video in the player, so the original channel can be found through them. Creators can switch remixing off for their own uploads. Plenty do, without much thought. Leaving it on costs nothing and every remix carries an attribution link home, so switching it off deserves a real decision instead of a default.
