Resolution

Resolution counts pixels and nothing else, which is why it is the most overrated number on a camera spec sheet. Lens quality, sensor size, bitrate, colour depth and lighting all do more for how a video looks than the pixel count does. Shooting 4K for a 1080p delivery still has real uses. You can crop or reframe in the edit without losing detail, and downscaling 4K to 1080p produces a cleaner image than filming 1080p directly. The costs are storage, a machine that can edit it, and longer exports. Plenty of channels doing well are still filming and delivering at 1080p.
