Restricted Mode

Restricted Mode is set per browser or per signed-in account, and it screens out anything YouTube's systems or reviewers judge potentially adult. Network administrators can enforce it across an entire school or office, so a channel aimed at 14-year-olds can lose a slice of daytime views with nothing in Studio looking wrong. Drugs and alcohol, sexual situations, violence, profanity and some mature subject matter can all trip it, even where the treatment is educational. The filter is blunt. Turn the setting on in your own browser and walk through your channel to see what disappears. Being filtered this way is separate from being age-restricted, demonetised or removed.
