Script lock
Also called: locked script, locking the script
Borrowed from film and television, script lock is a decision rather than a document: from this moment the words are fixed, and anything that changes after it is a change request with a cost attached.
Solo creators leave it out and pay in reshoots. A rewrite that feels like an improvement at 11pm the night before filming usually costs more in b-roll, graphics and re-recorded voiceover than it adds. Lock it, film it, and put every good idea that turns up afterwards into the next video.
