Shoot day

Also called: film day, filming day

Batching filming into one day is the single change that makes a schedule survivable for anyone who films alone. Lights go up once, the camera gets set once, and you stay in the same headspace across four or five scripts instead of rebuilding the room every week. The cost is a shirt change and a bigger memory card. The failure mode is arriving without finished scripts and a shot list, because a shoot day with nothing prepared turns into an expensive afternoon of staring at a tripod.
