Shot list

Also called: shotlist, b-roll list

A shot list breaks a script or outline into individual setups: wide of the workshop, close on hands, cutaway of the label, piece to camera by the window. Each line names the framing and what the shot is for. Solo creators leave it out and pay for that in the edit, which is where you discover the one insert that would have held a sequence together, by which point the set is packed away and the light has gone. 10 minutes with a notes app on the morning of a shoot is usually the entire exercise.
