Writers' room

Also called: writer's room, writing team

A group meets on a fixed schedule to pitch concepts, pull them apart and rebuild them before anybody writes a full draft, which is enormously cheaper than finding the problem in the edit. On a channel that usually means the host, a producer and a writer or two, with one person holding the pen and one holding the standard. Solo creators approximate it by pitching to a single trusted person who is allowed to say no. The failure mode is consensus. A room that files every rough edge off an idea produces something nobody objects to and nobody watches.
