Text-based editing

Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Descript all offer it now. The transcript generates automatically, filler words get flagged so you can strip every um in one pass, and rough assembly happens at reading speed rather than scrubbing speed. The limits matter before you lean on it. Text editing only understands what was said, so anything driven by picture, timing or performance still needs the timeline.
