The creator puts a set of things on screen, drops each one into a ranked tier, and defends the placement. Gaming, food, film and pop culture channels have run it into the ground and it keeps working, because the viewer is doing the same sorting in their head and disagreeing is half the pleasure. That disagreement is what fills the comments. The format hides nothing, though. Without genuinely held opinions it is somebody reading a list for an hour.
