Channel moderator

Also called: mod, moderator

You add moderators in YouTube Studio under Settings and Community, by entering their channel. From then on they can remove comments, put people in timeout during live chat, and hide a user from the channel so their comments stop appearing at all. There are two levels, with the managing role carrying more than the standard one. What a moderator cannot do is the reassuring part: no uploads, no edits to your videos, no access to revenue or analytics. Two limits catch people out. Moderators cannot manage a Live Q&A question list, and their view stops at comments and chat, so a busy stream still needs someone with wider permissions.
