Cold pitch
Also called: outbound pitch, pitch email, cold outreach
Nobody is coming. A cold pitch is the short email you send to a named person at a company you have no relationship with, and the ones that get read are separated from the rest by research. Name the product, say why your audience fits it, give the two or three numbers that actually matter, and propose one concrete idea instead of offering a menu. Link a media kit and keep the email under two hundred words. Follow up once, then leave it. Volume on its own achieves very little, because a template fired at fifty marketing inboxes is easy to spot and easier to delete. Ten pitches written for ten specific brands is a better use of an afternoon.
