Day rate

Also called: daily rate, shoot day rate

Day rates come from the production world and turn up in creator work whenever a brand books the person rather than the post: a launch event, a factory tour, a day of filming on location for the brand's own channels. The fee buys hours, typically an agreed number with overtime beyond it, and it covers the creator's presence and craft. What it does not automatically cover is anything the brand keeps afterwards. Usage rights, exclusivity, travel time and expenses are all priced separately, and a day rate quoted without them is the mistake that turns a good booking into an unpaid week.
