External traffic
Also called: external sources, off-platform traffic
Studio files anything that sends a viewer in from off the platform under External: social posts, blog links, newsletters, forum threads, messaging apps and pages that embed the player. Expand the row for the individual domains. That is the cleanest way to check whether a specific promotion sent anybody at all. Embedded plays land here too, so a popular embed on someone else's site can show up as external traffic you did nothing to earn. Hold one assumption loosely: that driving people in from elsewhere makes the recommendation system pick a video up. Those viewers arrive with different intent from someone who chose it in a feed.
