Geo-restriction

Music and footage are licensed territory by territory, so a rights holder can allow a video everywhere except the places where it holds no rights. That shows up in Studio as a list of blocked countries, and to a viewer in one of them as a video that will not play. Creators also set restrictions themselves, usually for a contractual reason or a legal one. Either way those views never register at all. A video with a large potential audience in a restricted country can therefore look like a flop while performing normally everywhere else, so check the restrictions before diagnosing a bad launch.
