Flop

Also called: flopped video, underperformer

Only your own history defines one. Five thousand views is a disaster on a channel averaging eighty thousand and a breakout on one averaging four hundred. The same caution applies to click-through rate, where raw percentages do not compare across channels or reach levels. The figure falls mechanically as a video's distribution widens. The counterpart is the outlier, a video that lands far above the same baseline. Any post-mortem starts by separating two questions: did people decline to click it, and did the people who clicked stay. One flop in a run of ordinary videos is noise. A pattern across several is information.
