YouTube adds these automatically, and the channel has no hand in it. One common form discloses that a news organisation receives government or public funding, so a viewer can weigh the source before watching. Others appear above the description on subjects where extra context is judged useful. Because the box arrives without warning and looks official, creators regularly read it as a warning shot or an early strike. It is a label aimed at the viewer, applied by topic or by publisher, and it says nothing about the quality of the video underneath it.
