Monetized Playbacks

Also called: monetised playbacks, estimated monetized playbacks

Studio counts a playback as monetised the moment an ad impression is served against it, including a viewer who abandons a pre-roll before the video ever begins. The figure runs below the view count because plenty of plays carry no ad: nobody bid on that inventory, the viewer holds a Premium subscription, or an ad blocker got in the way. Creators use it as a sanity check on a month that earned less than the view count implied. It answers one question: how many plays actually had an ad in them. The view count on its own cannot tell you that.
