Pinned post

Also called: pin a post

Channels use the pin slot for whatever should be seen regardless of when somebody arrives: a launch, a survey link, a schedule change, an apology. Only one post holds the position at a time, and pinning a new one releases the old. Pinning changes where a post sits on your channel page and nothing else. Anybody who already scrolled past it in a feed will meet it again only by visiting the channel, so a pin is housekeeping rather than promotion, and it works best paired with a fresh post that does the reaching for you.
