The cheap end of VTubing. Rather than a model driven by face tracking, the streamer uses a handful of still images, most often one with the mouth shut and one with it open, swapped by microphone input so the avatar appears to speak. Extra states for blinking, shouting or being muted get added over time. Software such as Veadotube runs it on almost any machine, and a full set costs a fraction of a rigged commission. It reads on Twitch as a deliberate style, which is why plenty of established streamers who could afford the upgrade have stayed put.
