Video sitemap
A video sitemap lists each page that hosts a video along with the title, description, thumbnail URL and the location of the video file or the player. Google still accepts and recommends them as a discovery signal for video pages, particularly on sites where the player loads through JavaScript and a crawler might miss it entirely. Most sites pair the sitemap with VideoObject structured data on the page itself, since the sitemap handles discovery and the markup handles context. Keep the two in agreement. Conflicting durations or titles between sitemap and markup make it harder for Google to treat them as the same video.
