YouTube search filters
Also called: search filters
Filters narrow a YouTube search by upload date, by type such as video, channel, playlist or film, by duration under four minutes, four to twenty, or over twenty, by features including live, 4K, subtitles and Creative Commons, and by sort order across relevance, upload date, view count and rating. Combining two of them is what makes them useful for research. Sorting by view count inside the last month shows which recent takes on a topic are working, and filtering to under four minutes shows how the query is being answered short. The date filter reads the public publish date, so an old video made public yesterday counts as new.
