Comment sentiment

Also called: sentiment analysis, audience sentiment

Sentiment analysis scores comments as positive, negative or neutral and reports the balance, either through a third-party tool or by reading them properly yourself. Treat it as soft evidence. A hundred comments on a video with fifty thousand views is a tiny self-selected sample, weighted towards people who felt strongly enough to type something. What it is good at is catching a shift: a format change that quietly annoyed regulars, a sponsor read that landed badly, an audio fault nobody flagged.
