Content gap
Also called: gap in coverage, unmet demand
Demand shows up as searches, repeated comments, forum questions and rival videos pulling high views on shaky execution. A gap is the space between that demand and what is actually available to watch. Finding one is the cheap half. The expensive half is working out why the gap exists, because plenty of gaps are gaps for a reason: no audience willing to sit through it, no way to film it affordably, or a topic advertisers pay nothing for. Treat a suspected gap as a hypothesis and go looking for evidence that people searched and came away unsatisfied.
