Freshness

Also called: recency

Some searches want the newest answer and some do not. A viewer looking up a phone released last week is poorly served by a two-year-old review. Someone searching how to tie a bowline is fine with a video from 2014.

Freshness is the name for that difference, and it belongs to the topic. Creators over-read it. Uploading more often does nothing for your back catalogue, and an old video that keeps satisfying searchers can hold the top of a query for years.
