Also called: pins
People arrive on Pinterest looking for something to make, cook, buy or plan, then save pins for later, which means a pin can keep sending clicks for years after you post it. That long tail is why it behaves more like a search engine than a social feed. For creators it works when the content is visual and practical and the destination is a page you own, a blog post or a recipe rather than a bare video link. Vertical images with readable text on them do best. It is a poor fit for commentary, talking-head and news formats, where there is nothing to save.
